Receptacle-tube always curved, obliquely campanulate, slightly to strongly gibbous, nearly always markedly oblique at the mouth, always longer than the sepals, glabrous inside only at the base.
Inflorescence a many-flowered panicle, usually thyrsoid, sometimes extremely contracted and racemoid.

Drupe fleshy; endocarp hairy inside, on germination breaking up in an irregular manner.
