Cultivation

Origin: in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, by the Puerto Rico Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1956. Chance seedling; selected in 1954. Tree: yield high, 8.1 to 12.1 t/ha/year, from 4-year-old trees. Fruit: acid, weight 9-12 g, large; high ascorbic acid content (1325-2250 mg/ 100 g juice).
