Corolla yellow or purple, bilabiate; tube longer than lip; upper lip entire or emarginate, larger than lower lip; lower lip 3-lobed. Stamens 4, included; anthers 2-celled, connective not elongated. Carpels 2; ovary 1-locular; parietal placentas 4. Style elongated; stigma subglobose. Capsule oblong or ovoid-globose. Seeds numerous; testa reticulate.
