Characteristics

Woody vine; latex white. Roots fibrous. Indumentum colourless. Leaves with petiole 11–55 mm long; lamina elliptic, to 19 cm long, to 8.2 cm wide, cordate at base, acute, with sparse to dense trichomes below, not triveined at base; venation prominent below; colleters 10–13. Inflorescences racemiform. Flowers 9–14 mm long, 10–15 mm diam.; pedicels 6–9 mm long. Corolla campanulate, cream; tube c. 5 mm long, 4–4.5 mm diam.; lobes lanceolate, c. 6 mm long, c. 2 mm wide, glabrous internally apart from scattered trichomes at tube mouth. Corolline corona absent. Staminal corona of 5 oblong lobes shorter than staminal column, entire, adnate at base; lobes c. 5 mm long, 2.5–2.8 mm wide. Anther appendages lanceolate-ovate. Style-head elongate-rostrate. Pollinia ellipsoidal-obloid, c. 0.7 mm long. Follicles fusiform-ovoid, c. 20 cm long.
