Characteristics

Woody vine; latex white. Roots fibrous. Indumentum colourless. Leaves with petiole 6–40 mm long; lamina oblong-ovate, oblong-elliptic to ovate, to 8 cm long, to 10.5 cm wide, cordate, cuneate or truncate at base, acute to acuminate, with sparse to dense trichomes below, not triveined at base; venation prominent below; colleters 5–9. Inflorescences umbelliform. Flowers 2–2.5 mm long, 2.8–5 mm diam.; pedicels 2–7 mm long. Corolla campanulate, cream; tube 2–2.5 mm long, 1.8–2.2 mm diam.; lobes lanceolate-ovate, 2–2.5 mm long, 1.3–1.6 mm wide, with scattered trichomes internally. Corolline corona comprising 5 ridges, not terminating in apical lobes. Staminal corona of 5 small, rounded lobes shorter than staminal column, adnate at base, entire; lobes c. 0.1 mm long, c. 0.1 mm wide. Anther appendages ovate. Style-head conical-elongate. Pollinia oblong, 0.14–0.2 mm long. Follicles fusiform, 5–7 cm long.
