Characteristics

Subshrub to 1 m high; latex white. Roots fibrous. Indumentum colourless. Leaves with petiole 1–3 mm long; lamina elliptic, lanceolate-ovate or ovate, to 9 cm long, to 3.2 cm wide, cuneate to rounded at base, acute, with scattered to sparse trichomes below, not triveined at base; venation obscure below; colleters 1 or 2. Inflorescences umbelliform. Flowers 3–5 mm long, 3–8 mm diam.; pedicels 7–10 mm long. Corolla campanulate, cream; tube 1.5–3 mm long, 2.5–4 mm diam.; lobes lanceolate to lanceolate-ovate, 1.5–4 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide, with sparse trichomes internally. Corolline corona comprising 5 ridges, not terminating in apical lobes. Staminal corona comprising 5 oblong-rectangular lobes shorter than staminal column, entire, adnate at base; lobes c. 1.5 mm long, c. 0.5 mm wide. Anther appendages ovate to ovate-truncate. Style-head depressed-globose. Pollinia oblong, c. 0.2 mm long. Follicles fusiform-ovoid, 5–11 cm long.
