Characteristics

Perennial, prostrate, dwarf shrublet, with a cluster of short stems in the centre, up to 0.05 m high, stems articulate. Leaves free with short mucro, bladder cells flattened, often reduced, dried up or deciduous, stems taking over photosynthetic role. Flowers in few-to many-flowered cymes, white. Flowering time Oct., Nov. Capsules 5-locular, valve wings inflexed over valves.

Leaves deciduous, subcylindrical, free from each other to base, with a short apical mucro.
