Erect, succulent shrub, up to 1.5 m tall, 3 m diam., stems smooth. Leaves subcylindrical with upper surface somewhat flattened, free from each other, short, often not longer than 5 mm, occasionally with short apical mucro. Flowers in dichasia, 10(-13) mm diam., white or pinkish, filamentous staminodes gathered into a cone. Fruit 4-or 5-locular.
Dwarf shrub, succulent, 1.5-3.0 m high. Stems decumbent or erect; constricted at nodes, green, with persistent, succulent, primary cortex. Leaves ± 5 mm long. Flowers: many in a cyme; corolla 10-13 mm in diameter, petals white or pale pink. Fruit 4-or 5-locular.
