Succulent, clustered geophyte, with tuberous roots, stems weakly lignified, short, flowering stems longer. Leaves opposite and 4-ranked below inflorescence, otherwise alternate, subcylindrical, narrowly ovate, with large epidermal bladder-cells. Flowers up to 30 mm diam., yellowish to pale salmon. Fruit 5-locular.
