Characteristics

Erect, perennial shrublet, up to 0.7 m high, branches weakly lignified. Leaves subcylindrical, decussate to alternate in inflorescences, with a thick wax layer. Flowers in bracteose dichasia, white to pale yellow or pale pink. Flowering time Sept.-Mar. Capsules 4-locular, covering membranes absent, valve wings inflexed over valves, expanding keels extending to centre of fruit.
