Characteristics

Viscid plants, 12–15 cm high, forming mats many metres long. Culm internodes c. 1 mm long. Leaves thin, 5-nerved, pubescent; sheath c. 2 mm long, loose, often scaberulous on margins; ligule a fringe of sparse, minute hairs; blade c. 10 mm long, c. 0.5 mm wide, acute to subobtuse, herbaceous, glandular-tuberculate along margins. Panicles c. 15 mm long and wide, with glandular tubercles on divisions. Glumes usually much exceeding florets, lanceolate, 1.3–1.5 mm long, usually acuminate, muticous, strongly 3-nerved, sparsely hairy, glandular-tuberculate. Lemma oblong, c. 0.5 mm long, obtusely 3-toothed, membranous, strongly 3-nerved. Palea nerveless. Caryopsis ellipsoid, c. 0.5 mm long, striolate.
