Slender herb, 35–80 cm. tall; stem much-branched above rarely simple; minutely scabrid on all vegetative parts.
Capsule 2.5–3.5 x 2.8–3.5 mm., subglobose, slightly longitudinally compressed, glabrous, dark brown to black.
Calyx 2.5–4.5 mm. long, lobes 0.8–1.4 mm. long, broadly deltate.
