Capitula in dense leafy inflorescences, individual cymes subglobose, axillary or terminal, with up to 10 capitula, and up to 15 cymes forming the compound inflorescence; capitula 5–8 mm long; stalks of individual capitula 3–10 mm long, densely pubescent, with bracteoles 1.5–2 mm long; phyllaries 3-seriate, membranous, ovate but the innermost almost linear, 2–5.5 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide, with scarious and ciliate to laciniate margins, acute or obtuse..
