Characteristics

A vigorous scandent shrub, stems slender, branching, woody, striate. Leaves alternate, thinly hairy, up to 4 x 3 cm, deltoid, apex acute, base cuneate, margins with a few broad teeth, petiole up to 1.5 cm long. Heads broadly campanulate, c. 5 x 5 mm, many in dense terminal corymbs, these sometimes panicled. Involucral bracts in c. 4 series, lanceolate, pale with dark median elongated immersed oil sacs. Rays very short, white, disc flowers yellowish. Achenes c. 1.5 mm long, elliptic, compressed, with 2 lateral and 2 median [as mediam] ribs, thinly appressed-hairy. Pappus of numerous scabrid bristles.
