Climber, up to 1 m tall, or small, densely branched, spinescent shrublet, up to 0.2 m tall, ± glabrous, stems 1-2 mm diam., with fine waxy bloom. Leaves linear, 6-18 x 2-4 mm, glabrous, grey-green. Flowers 3-10, in extra-axillary clusters, peduncle 1-7 mm long, pedicels 3-9 mm long. Sepals 4-16 mm long, ± glabrous, often bright red. Corolla tube 5-8 mm long, ± 2.5 mm broad, bright pink-red with green towards base, lobes 2-3 mm long.
