Characteristics

Annual herb, erect, to 21 cm high, glabrous or sparsely squamulose. Stem scapose or scapiform. Leaves lanceolate, 5–17 mm long, 2–4 mm wide. Flowers in few-flowered, openly branched, terminal and axillary, simple and compound umbellate clusters; pedicels to 25 mm long. Calyx tube 1.2–1.5 mm long; lobes 0.5–0.7 mm long. Corolla white; tube 2.5–7 mm long; lobes 2–3.6 mm long. Free part of stamens 2–3 mm long. Capsule ellipsoidal, c. 2.5 mm long; fruiting style 3–7 mm long.
