Characteristics

Annual herb, prostrate, forming discrete circular mats, hirsute, including calyx. Stem foliose throughout. Leaves oblanceolate or elliptic, 5–20 mm long, 2–16 mm wide. Flowers terminal and axillary, in few-flowered simple and compound umbellate clusters enveloped by upper leaves; pedicels to 5 mm long. Calyx campanulate; tube 1.5–2 mm long, with tissue between lobes and ribs membranous; lobes foliaceous, lanceolate, 2.5–3 mm long. Corolla white; tube 3–4 mm long; lobes 1.5–3 mm long. Stamens 2–2.9 mm long; anthers obtuse; dehiscence latrorse. Capsule campanulate, 2–2.5 mm long, puberulous in upper part; horns not developed; fruiting style 0.8–1 mm long.
