Characteristics

Perennial herb, pendent, to 30 cm long. Stem scapiform; foliose part hispidulous, with nodes swollen; bracteate part glabrous. Leaves narrowly lanceolate-attenuate, 7–10 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, glabrous or hispidulous. Flowers in compound umbellate clusters appearing as a series of few-flowered fascicles in axils of upper bracts; pedicels to 6 mm long. Calyx campanulate, thin, subglaucous; tube 0.6–1.5 mm long; lobes 1.1–1.4 mm long. Corolla white; tube 3–3.5 mm long; lobes 0.5–1.2 mm long. Stamens 2–2.5 mm long; filament bases slightly expanded; anthers obtuse; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule ovoid, c. 3 mm long; fruiting style c. 1.5 mm long.
