Characteristics

Annual herb, erect, to 40 cm high, subglaucous, glabrous or hispidulous. Stem scapiform; foliose part short, often appearing rosulate. Leaves ovate or lanceolate, 4–38 mm long, 2.5–15 mm wide. Flowers in terminal and axillary compound umbellate clusters; pedicels to 28 mm long. Calyx campanulate, glabrous, subglaucous; tube 0.6–1.1 mm long; lobes 0.5–1 mm long. Corolla white; tube 2–2.2 mm long; lobes 1.6–2.2 mm long. Stamens 1.1–2 mm long; anthers apiculate; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule ovoid or ellipsoidal, 2–2.5 mm long; fruiting style 0.2–0.4 mm long.
