Characteristics

Perennial herb, prostrate, mat-or cushion-forming, glabrous. Stem foliose throughout, rarely appearing scapiform. Leaves elliptic, lanceolate or oblong, 3–10 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, ciliate or wholly glabrous. Flowers in few-flowered terminal and axillary compound umbellate clusters; pedicels to 22 mm long. Calyx campanulate; tube 1.2–1.5 mm long; lobes c. 1 mm long. Corolla white; tube 4.5–5.5 mm long; lobes 1–1.5 mm long. Stamens 2–3 mm long; filament bases swollen; anthers obtuse; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule globular to ellipsoidal, 2–3 mm long; fruiting style 1.5–2.5 mm long.
