Annual herb, erect, to 20 cm high, hispid or squamulose. Stem scapiform. Leaves elliptic or lanceolate, 9–25 mm long, 4–13 mm wide. Flowers in widely spreading terminal and axillary compound umbellate clusters; pedicels to 20 mm long. Calyx cylindrical, hispid, especially on ribs; tube 1–1.5 mm long; lobes 1.5–1.9 mm long. Corolla white; tube 2.5–3 mm long; lobes 0.8–1 mm long. Stamens 1.6–2 mm long; anthers obtuse; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule ovoid, c. 3 mm long, squamulose in upper half; fruiting style c. 1.6 mm long.
