Characteristics

Annual herb, erect, to 40 cm high, pilose to woolly. Stem foliose throughout. Leaves narrowly lanceolate to linear or filiform, 5–25 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide. Flowers solitary and in few-flowered terminal and axillary simple or compound umbellate clusters; pedicels to 37 mm long. Calyx campanulate, hirsute; tube 1.5–2.5 mm long; lobes narrowly triangular, 2.2–2.5 mm long. Corolla white; tube 3.5–5 mm long; lobes c. 1 mm long. Stamens 2–2.5 mm long; anthers obtuse; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule obovoid, often splitting in upper part of septum, c. 4 mm long; fruiting style c. 3 mm long.
