Characteristics

Perennial or annual herb, erect, to 30 cm high or weak, pendent. Stem scapiform; foliose part hispidulous or pilose; bracteate part glabrous, subglaucous. Leaves elliptic, narrowly elliptic, lanceolate or narrowly oblanceolate, 4.5–13 mm long, 1–5 mm wide, hispidulous or pilose throughout. Flowers terminal, in few-flowered umbellate clusters; pedicels to 40 mm long. Calyx campanulate, glabrous, subglaucous; tube 1.5–2.2 mm long; lobes 1–2 mm long. Corolla white; tube 2–4 mm long; lobes 1.2–5 mm long. Stamens c. 1 mm long; anthers almost sessile, apiculate; dehiscence latrorse. Capsule obovoid or globular, 2–3 mm long; fruiting style c. 1 mm long.
