Characteristics

Annual herb, erect, to 30 cm high, white-pilose, including calyx, or leaves glabrous above. Stem foliose throughout. Leaves linear, 6–27 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide. Flowers in terminal and axillary simple and compound umbellate clusters; pedicels bent, patent, to 19 mm long. Calyx cylindrical or quadrate, 4-ribbed to lobe apices; tube 2–2.6 mm long; lobes carinate, 1.9–2.5 mm long. Corolla white; tube 4–5 mm long; lobes 0.8–2 mm long. Stamen filaments partly adnate to tube, free part 1.5–2.3 mm long; anthers obtuse; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule ovoid to ellipsoidal, 3–4 mm long; fruiting style 1.5–2 mm long.
