Characteristics

Perennial herb, prostrate or pendent, glabrous or sparsely pilose, including calyx. Stem foliose throughout, herbaceous, mat-forming, rhizomatous, becoming nodose. Leaves ovate or elliptic, 2–12 mm long, 1–6 mm wide. Flowers solitary, axillary or terminal; pedicels to 10 mm long. Calyx campanulate; tube 0.6–1 mm long; lobes 1.4–1.5 mm long. Corolla white, greenish, fawn or pale yellow; tube 0.6–1.2 mm long; lobes 1–1.5 mm long. Stamens c. 1 mm long, shortly exserted; anthers apiculate; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule ovoid, c. 1.5 mm long; fruiting style c. 0.5 mm long.
