Characteristics

Annual herb, erect, to 3 cm high, densely squamous, including calyx, with scales cupular in dried specimens. Stem scapose. Leaves oblanceolate, 3–7 mm long, 1–2 mm wide. Flowers terminal and axillary, solitary and in few-flowered compound umbellate clusters; pedicels to 13 mm long. Calyx campanulate; tube c. 0.5 mm long; lobes acuminate to cuspidate, c. 1 mm long. Corolla white; tube c. 0.6 mm long; lobes c. 0.6 mm long, acuminate to cuspidate. Stamens c. 0.5 mm long; anthers apiculate; dehiscence extrorse. Capsule globular, c. 2 mm long; stigma sessile.
