Characteristics

Plants form single growths or sparse, straggly clumps with numerous, coarse roots. Stems erect to pendulous, usually held away from host,100–600 mm long. Leaves 3–15 per stem, 30–70 × 4–6 mm, widely spaced, yellowish green, stiff, leathery, tip hooked. Racemes 30–60 mm long, 5–15-flowered. Flowers 6–7 × 6–7 mm, opening widely, cream, pale green or brownish with purplish markings. Sepals and petals widely spreading. Dorsal sepal c. 3.5 × 1.5 mm. Lateral sepals c. 3.5 × 1.5 mm. Petals c. 3 × 0.8 mm. Labellum hinged, c. 1.2 mm long, with a few red or purple markings; lateral lobes c. 1.7 × 1 mm, slightly incurved; midlobe c. 1.2 mm long, rounded, hollow, containing sticky nectar.
