Characteristics

Leaf-lamina 5–9·5 × 2–5 cm., elliptic to oblong or obovate-oblong, obtuse to truncate at the apex, slightly cordate at the base; upper surface finely reticulate, shining, glabrous; lower surface concolorous, smooth, glabrous; midrib and lateral nerves slightly depressed above and prominent beneath; lateral nerves in 8–11 pairs, progressively fading out well before reaching the margin of the leaf; reticulation scarcely prominent, not conspicuous to the naked eye.

Fruit 0·7–1·2 cm. in diam., subglobose, sericeous, rounded or slightly conical at the apex; wings 2–3 × 1–1·5 cm., yellow or brownish, elliptic to obovate.
Inflorescences axillary, 2–4 cm. long, slender, lax, 4–10-flowered, brownish, glabrescent, on a slender peduncle 1–1·5 cm. long; pedicels 5 mm. long.
Petals 7–5 mm. long, shortly greyish-or yellowish-sericeous-tomentose.
Stamens with anthers produced into a very short mucro.
