Characteristics

Leaf-lamina 6–9 × 2–3·5 cm., narrowly elliptic to oblong, obtuse to truncate at the apex, rounded to slightly cordate at the base; upper surface hairy with long straight simple isolated pachydermatous hairs; lower surface buff with long straight simple leptodermatous hairs on the nerves and reticulation and with the interreticular areoles quite glabrous; midrib thick and very prominent beneath; lateral nerves in 10–14 pairs (with a strong tendency to the formation of short subsidiaries), nearly straight, incurved at the apex without reaching the margin of the leaf; reticulation not very prominent but very conspicuous; petiole 0·7–1 cm. long, thick.
