Leaf-blade oblong-ovate in outline, 40–125 cm. long, 30–70 cm. broad, deeply and regularly pinnatifid, base truncate, sinuses extending to midrib; pinnae 12–30 per side, 2–5 cm. broad, constricted basally; petiole 30–60 cm. long, shorter than blade, pulvinate apically; sheath reaching petiole apex.. Spathe boat-shaped, white, up to 33 cm. long.. Spadix white, subcylindric, up to 30 cm. long, 5 cm. thick in flower.. Flowers bisexual, lacking tepals.
