Characteristics

Perennial, twiggy, dwarf shrub, 0.3-0.6 m high. Leaves sessile, rigid, needle-like, longer than internodes, spine-tipped. Flowers 1 or 2 in axils, pink or white; pedicels shorter than flowers. Sepals same colour as petals, broadly oblong. Side petals widest below middle, slightly longer than carina. Flowering time May-Oct. Fruit a glabrous capsule, with 4 short, acute teeth. Seed oblong.
