Staminate inflorescences branched; flowers in spike-like to globose glomerules; tepals 3–4; stamens 3–4. Pistillate inflorescences globose-capitate; perianth 2–3-lobed; stigma tongue-shaped. Fruiting perianth enlarged, fleshy, yellow to orange-red; fruit adnate to the perianth; endocarp woody. Seed large, without endosperm.
