Characteristics

Bulb progressively renewed over 3–4 years; lvs elongate, 8–15 mm wide, with a white stripe on the upper surface; scape 2–5 dm; raceme elongate, 3–12-fld; bracts surpassing the 5–10 mm pedicels; fls at first erect or ascending, soon nodding; perianth broadly campanulate, the tep oblong, 1.5–3 cm, white above, with a broad green midstripe beneath; ovary shorter than the style; 2n=45. Native of w. Asia, occasionally escaped from cult. in our range.
