Leaves alternate, sessile; blade linear to oblong, margins denticulate to pinnatifid; viscid hispidulous, glabrescent. Heads radiate, solitary, terminal, shortly pedunculate. Involucral bracts ± uniseriate, glandular-hairy, margins white-scarious. Flowers: ray florets very short, as long as or slightly longer than involucral bracts, female, fertile, pale to bright yellow; disc florets functionally male, pale yellow; Jul.-Jun. Fruit with cypsela obovoid-or obpyramidal-triangular with a number of processes. Pappus absent.
