Frutex erectus 0.5-1 m altus opposite ramosus; rami erectopatentes-divaricati teretes rigidi glabri partibus junioribus glaucovirides interdum pulverulenti partibus vetustioribus cortice griseo vestiti; internodia 1-5 cm longa. Folia opposita crassiuscula glabra glaucoviridia vel rarius cana et pulverulenta vel rarissime inconspicue glanduloso-puberula linearia-(ob)lanceolata 2-6 cm longa 0.2-0.6 cm lata (inferiora interdum usque 1.2 cm lata) basin versus angustata sessilia vel subpetiolata semiamplexicaulia apice acuta vel rarius obtusa mucronulata margine integerrima; nervus medius subtus parum elevatus, nervi secundarii vix conspicui. Capitula in apicibus ramorum laxe corymbosa vel rarius solitaria, fructifera nutantia; pedunculi capitulorum saltern superne glanduloso-puberuli 3-10 cm longi bracteis paucis allernis lineari-subulatis 3-5 mm longis instructi. Involucri squamae 13-16 subuniseriatae fere aequilongae lanceolatae vel oblongolanceolatae 4-5 mm longae 1-2 mm latae margine sat late albido-scariosae. Flores radii involucri squamas numero aequantes; ligulae flavae vel aurantiacae involucro 2-3-plo superantes; corollae florum disci superne atro-purpureae. Achaenia parce glandulosa dura 10-15 mm longa triangularia trialata, alis semipellucidis stramineis interdum passim violaceis 4-6 mm latis; latera sublaevia vel sulco longitudinal! e basi ad medium latus pertinenti instructa; cavernula apicalis 3-fenestrata, fenestris subrotundis c. 1 mm diam.

Flowerheads radiate, solitary or few corymbosely arranged at branch tips; ray florets much longer than involucral bracts, yellow to orange; disc florets purple.
