Characteristics

Erect shrub, up to 2 m high; with slender, glabrous, yellowish-brown stems. Flowering shoots clustered at ends of previous years shoots. Leaves trifoliolate. Leaflets 15-25 mm long, narrowly linear-oblanceolate, terminal leaflet longer and wider than laterals. Stipules 2.5-3.0 mm long, fused to base of petioles, shortly triangular, densely encrusted with orange glands, prominently nigro-punctate in dried specimens. Inflorescence densely spicate, comprising 20-30 sets of triplet flowers. Flowers 9-10 mm long, subsessile, white with blue centre. Flowering time Aug., Sept.
