Suflrutex with stems arising from a fleshy to woody rootstock; stems brown or reddish-brown, up to 0·3–0·9 m. tall, cylindric in the lower part, subangulate-furrowed in the upper part, striate, sparsely to ± densely hairy, the hairs appressed to ± patent, short, weak, whitish to yellowish.
Female flowers: pedicels up to 1 mm. long; calyx-segments whitish, 2–2·5 mm. long, ovate-lanceolate, acute, pilose; petals oblong, obtuse, externally appressed-pilose, with inflexed apex.
Maleflowers: calyx-segments c. 2 mm. long, ovate-lanceolate, acute, appressed-pilose outside; petals whitish, c. 3 mm. long, oblong, obtuse, densely appressed-pilose outside.
Inflorescences terminal and axillary, 1–2 cm. long, congested, with appressed-minutely-pilose axis and branches.
Drupe black, shining, 7–10 × 9–12 mm., transversely ellipsoid.
