Characteristics

Leaves alternate or subopposite; petiole 10–12 mm. long, canaliculate above, densely and shortly appressed-hairy; lamina discolorous (green and shortly appressed-hairy above, whitish-sericeous with short appressed hairs beneath), 4·5–8 × 2·5–4·5 cm., elliptic or obovate, roundish or emarginate, sometimes mucronate at the apex, thickened at the yellowish almost flat margin, cuneate at the base; midrib yellowish, raised above nearly to the apex, very prominent below; lateral nerves raised above, very prominent beneath, shortly appressed-hairy, somewhat arcuate, 2–3·5 mm. apart; reticulation raised above and ± concealed by the indumentum beneath.
