Characteristics

Stem 170-300 mm tall, slender to stout, simple or branched at the base, puberulous to pubescent. Leaves erectly spreading; petiole 5-8 mm long; blades 33-87 x 26-43 mm, oblong or elliptic-oblong, surface scabrous to pubescent, more so at the margins. Inflorescence 2, umbellate, 3-5-flowered, pedunculate at uppermost node and terminal; peduncles 28-50 mm long, pubescent. Bracts 3-8 mm long, narrowly linear or linear, acuminate, glabrous above, densely pubescent below. Pedicels 10-12 mm long, pubescent. Sepals 7.0-9.0 x 4.5-6.5 mm, broadly ovate or elliptic, apex acute or acute-acuminate, glabrous above, sparsely to densely pubescent below. Corolla 2.0-2.5 mm long, broadly and shortly cup-shaped, lobed for 2/3 of its length, apparently basal part dull purple-brown, apical part yellowish-green, glabrous above, puberulous below especially in the upper part; lobes 8.0-9.8 mm long, broadly ovate, concave below, tips recurved or revolute, obtuse, notched or emarginate, margins slightly revolute and imbricate below. Corona lobes 5-6 x 3-4 mm, erect, oblong, apex obtuse, sides reflexed, and forming a narrow median channel on the outer surface, a median keel on the inner surface, the keel about 0.6 mm high, a pair of linear teeth 1-2 mm long, one at each side at the base, spreading outwards from under the anther wings close to the corolla, corona `dark purple-brown'. Anther wings 2.0-2.5 mm long, edges concave with basal angles curving outwards; appendages 1.5-1.7 mm long, broadly ovate to cordate, tip obtuse and slightly emarginate, curved over the style apex.
