Characteristics

Stem `15-20 cm high, decumbent from the base and then erect, harshly or somewhat scabrous pubescent with spreading hairs.' Leaves `ascending; petiole 3-8 mm long'; blade 40-60 x 6-17 mm, linear-lanceolate, margins and surfaces harshly pubescent. Inflorescence umbellate, 3-flowered; peduncles 6-25 mm long, pubescent as the stem. Sepals 12-14 x 2.5-3.0 mm, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous above, pubescent below. Corolla 14-16 mm long, cup-shaped, lobed almost to the base, apparently yellowish with dark mauve markings, glabrous above, pubescent below; lobes 10-12 x 5-8 mm, lanceolate or narrowly ovate, tips acute and slightly notched, margins revolute. Corona lobes 10-12 x 1.4-2.2 mm, erect or suberect from a shortly spreading base, blade spathulately linear-oblong, `or linear lanceolate at upper part', apex truncate, base with a pair of keels; keels 2.2-2.5 mm high, 2.9 mm long, obliquely oblong, with their obtusely rounded tips directed outwards and the upper parts contiguous, as if pinched together forming a cavity beneath. Anther wings 2.5-5 mm long, vertical with outer edge straight; appendages 1.2-3.5 mm long, ovate, obtuse tips inflexed over the margin of the style apex. Follicle `young follicle ovoid, winged at the upper part, thinly puberulous'.
