Inflorescences terminal on short lateral branches and sometimes on the main branches, sessile, occasionally with an additional pair of branches arising from the next node down, often congested; primary branches 0.3–1.6 cm long, sparsely to densely pubescent; pedicels absent, the base of the calyx tube surrounded by filiform to subulate pubescent bracteoles, or pedicels up to 3 mm long, sometimes bearing a bractlet.
Corolla white, salver-shaped, densely covered with appressed hairs outside; tube 4–5 mm long, 0.75–1 mm wide at top, pubescent within; lobes 2 × 1–1.5 mm, ± oblong, rounded, nerves conspicuous.
Calyx pubescent; tube 1–1.25 mm long; limb-tube 0.75–1.25 mm long, equalling the tube in width, divided almost to base into narrowly triangular to sublinear lobes.
Shrub or small tree 1.2–4.5 m tall; stems ± terete, frequently gnarled, sometimes pubescent when young, covered with grey or buff-coloured bark, readily peeling.
Fruit green, 4.5 mm in diameter, sparsely covered with short hairs, usually 2–4-seeded; calyx limb persistent; pedicels tending to lengthen.
Seeds reddish-brown, 2–3 mm across, with a shallow hilar groove, smooth.
Anthers oblong, only partly or less often ± fully exserted.
Placenta small, bearing 2–3 pendulous ovules.
Flowers (4)5-merous.
