Petiole ca. 8 cm; leaf blade ovate-elliptic, to 20 × 10 cm, ± leathery, glabrous, base rounded to shallowly cordate, margin remotely undulate-serrate, apex acute; midrib brown abaxially. Verticillasters many flowered; bracteoles linear. Pedicel short. Fruiting calyx tubular-campanulate, ca. 1.7 cm, strigose, sparsely white bristly at apex and along conspicuously elevated veins; teeth broadly triangular. Corolla not seen.
