Characteristics

Stems 1 or 2, slender, 4-10 cm, with 1 leaf near middle or distally. Basal leaves 2 or 3(-5); petiole slender, 1-3 cm; leaf blade abaxially greenish, densely brown punctate, adaxially deep green, orbicular, rarely reniform, 2-9(-14) × 2-9(-14) mm, base deeply cordate, apex rounded, rarely obtuse. Cauline leaf sessile or subsessile, purple-brown punctate, ovate-triangular or ovate, ca. 4 × 3.5 mm, base not cordate, often with a few rusty brown appendages, apex acute. Flower 8-11 mm in diam.; hypanthium turbinate. Sepals purple-brown punctate, ovate or oblong, ca. 2.5 × 1.8 mm, margin entire, apex obtuse or acute. Petals white, densely purple-brown punctate, triangular-ovate, 4.5-6 × ca. 2 mm, base abruptly contracted into a claw 2-2.5 × ca. 0.5 mm, margin long fimbriate proximally, entire or undulate distally, apex rounded-obtuse. Anthers ellipsoid, 0.5-1 mm; filaments 2-2.5 mm; staminodes broadly spatulate, flat, ca. 0.8 × 1.2 mm, stalk ca. 0.5 × 1.2 mm, margin dentate or undulate distally, apex rounded. Ovary superior, broadly ovoid; style ca. 0.8 mm; stigma 3-lobed, lobes long ovate. Capsule depressed ovoid. Seeds brown, glossy, oblong. Fl. Aug-Sep, fr. Oct.
