Spikelets ovate, 1.7–2.6 mm. long; lower glume obtuse or truncate, 1/3–1/2 the length of the spikelet; upper glume 3/4 to as long as the spikelet; lower floret with a palea, its lemma as long as the spikelet, the nerves not raised; upper lemma granulose or weakly rugulose.
