Characteristics

Herbs perennial, 2--6 cm tall, densely pubescent, drying ± black. Stems 2--20, erect, unbranched. Leaves alternate; petiole 2--4 cm; leaf blade linear, ca. 2.5 cm X 5 mm, pinnatifid; segments 12--20 pairs, ovate, apiculate-dentate. Inflorescences racemose, dense. Pedicel to 2.5--6 cm. Calyx 1--1.2 cm, 1/3 cleft anteriorly, densely pubescent; lobes 5, unequal, serrate. Corolla tube ca. 1.6 cm, externally puberulent; galea strongly bent apically; beak straight, ca. 5 mm, slender, bent slightly downward apically, 2-cleft at apex; lower lip 1.8--2 cm wide, lobes rounded, erose-serrulate. Filaments pubescent. Capsule obliquely oblong, ca. 2 cm X 6 mm, exceeding calyx, apiculate. Seeds ovoid. Fl. Jul--Aug, fr. Aug.
