Leaf-blades ovate or oblong-ovate, apex shortly acuminate, base rounded to subcordate, thin to papyraceous, velvety when young, subglabrous above and pubescent beneath when mature, denticulate, 5–8 cm. long, 4–7 cm. broad; lateral nerves 5–7 curved-ascending pairs, raised beneath, reticulation rather dense; petiole (1–)1.5–3 cm. long; stipules subulate, caducous, ± 5 x 1 mm..
