Erect or sprawling dwarf shrub, simple or branched, 0.10-0.15 m high, woody only at very base. Leaves alternate, crowded, tufted at apex, up to 30 mm long, hair-points deciduous. Inflorescences terminal; peduncles up to 80 mm long, terminating in a whorl of leaves; repeatedly dichasial, ultimately pseudoracemes. Nectariferous disc white, of 3 obtuse, very thin lobes. Stigmas short, white, revolute. Flowering time Aug.-June. Fruit a rounded, loculicidal, 3-5-valved capsule, slightly longer than perianth. Seeds dark brown, finely granulate, discoid-biconvex, rim distinct.
