Characteristics

Annual herb to 25 cm tall, erect, with bifid, appressed hairs. Basal leaves in a rosette, elliptic to narrowly obovate, to 9 cm long, entire to dentate; cauline leaves reducing. Inflorescence an elongating raceme. Sepals 2–4 mm long. Petals 3–7 mm long, white or yellow. Style 1–2.5 mm long, exserted; stigma capitate. Silicula elliptic to round, 6–13 mm long, slightly winged and notched; valves with bifid hairs lying parallel to long axis of fruit; pedicel stout, to 2.5 cm long. Seeds 1.5–2.3 mm long, ellipsoidal, 3–10 per locule.
