Characteristics

Tree or shrub 4–35 m high, crown dense; trunk 5–60 cm in diameter, cylindrical; wood very hard.. Leaves petiolate; blade broadly to narrowly ellipic to oblong, 10–27 cm long, 1.9–13 cm wide, apex abruptly acuminate with acumen 6–14 mm long, rounded to obtuse at the base; petiole 10–22 mm long.. Inflorescence 6–10 cm long, 12–36-flowered; peduncle 2–37 mm long; bracts small; pedicels 2–20 mm long.. Flowers with sepals broadly ovate to suborbicular; 3.5–7.5 mm long, 3.5–5 mm wide, obtuse to rounded at the apex; corolla tube often greenish, 14.5–21 mm long; lobes white to yellow, ovate, 13.5–30 mm long, 5.5–10 mm wide, obtuse at the apex; stamens inserted at 9.5–15 mm from the base; pistil 9.7–12.5 mm long; style 5–7.3 mm long; ovules 120–150 in each carpel..
