Characteristics

Flowers pale blue, pedicels 2.5–3 mm. long, in terminal racemes 2–4 cm. long with glabrous rhachis and caducous bracts and bracteoles.

Posterior sepal 1.5–1.8 mm. long; wing sepals 4–5 x 2 mm., greenish, obliquely elliptic, acute at the apex, glabrous.
Spreading annual or perennial herb or shrublet with thick, woody rootstock; stems slender, slightly winged, glabrous.
Seeds 2.5 x 1–1.2 mm., ellipsoid, with rather white, appressed, silky hairs; caruncle 1 mm. long, appendages minute.
Capsule 3.5–4 x 2–2.5 mm., elliptic-oblong, sometimes minutely puberulous when young, glabrescent.
Upper petals 3 x 1.5–2 mm., obcuneate; carina 5 x 2 mm., crest 1.5 mm. long.
Leaves 8–12 x 0.3–0.6 mm., linear to acicular, glabrous, margins incurved.

Stamens 6 fertile and 2 staminodes.
